If you're so inclined, point your mouse to the American Family website and fill out this poll about gay marriage. Why? because American Family is one of the groups lobbying to have gay marriage made illegal and if their own research data proves them wrong, well... they will probably still go ahead with the lobbying, but at least they can't site the poll stats as reason why.
I just voted for legalizing gay marriage. Because I really like being married and I hate to think that our government is denying this right from anyone.
And because I'd like to someday be able to call my mom's partner what she is: my stepmom. When she is old and gray and my mom is likely gone, (my mom is older) I want to be able to take care of Karyn like any daughter would. I want to be able to look after her interests and make sure she is safe. She's be doing it for me all these years and it makes me sad to think that someone out there thinks that's evil and wrong and shouldn't be protected.

I'm sick.
I got my Mosaic Project shirt from Lara today and it fits perfectly. I don't really want to take it off...
Not sure if I'm coming to school tomorrow. My temperature seems to be going up. Hope to come back for Thursday and Friday.

I feel so stuffed full of baked stuff. It was my brother's birthday and the Building with Books bake sale weekend so I was baking up the wazoo and I've baked so much crap and eaten it too that it makes me almost sick. But then I look at my cookies and go...those look good.
Yes, I know. I have no baking skills to speak of, at least until now, but I actually managed to turn out some good stuff this weekend. Brownies that are gooey and almost chocolate syrup-y (probably because they're underbaked, but still good.) Cookies that are not grainy (unlike my last ones X_X) but have a really good flavor. Not enough chocolate chips, though.
Baking and watching movies is all I've done all weekend. I mean, besides hanging out with Nora and Cara, but we did both of those things. And made fried rice using sticky rice that was good but disappointed me because it wasn't sticky enough to shape :(
Johnny Depp is officially one of my favorite actors. He's. so. cool. Except...he probably wasn't actually acting at all. Just being drunk and high and saying his lines. Funny how that worked in Pirates of the Caribbean though. I'm sorry, Carrie, but he really was the best.

I think the part I hate most about holidays is how sociable and upbeat and happy my parents expect me to be. And for some reason I'm finding it to get into the holiday spirit this year. Maybe it's the war, maybe it's the stress, maybe it's simply that I'm not very close to any of the people invited and I'm not interested in the same things that they are. Maybe I'm simply depressed.
That last part is certainly true and it has quite a lot to do with the first few things I mentioned, but surprisingly enough Thanksgiving was not all that bad this year. I had a weird incident with cutting my gum while eating which has never happened before, and though it didn't hurt or bleed much it simply overwhelmed me and I broke down crying. I've done that before, been completely overwhelmed by something so small that it seems stupid. I don't know why it happens to me but it does. Actually, I think that was what saved Thanksgiving for me, because my mom decided that I was overtired and hurt and let me sit and eat and read in my room all day. You'd think the day would pass slowly but it didn't. First of all, Gabi and Tamar came in and kept me company for a while, and there's something about little kids that will always amaze me. Their energy and happiness that reaches the point of extremity and somehow rubs off on me. And then they got tired and snuggled up with me while I read. About five minutes later they were snoring. It was cute ^^
I wish I could express how I'm feeling correctly, but I can't, and I'm not sure I'd want to, on here where everyone can read it. I didn't intend to pour my heart into this journal when I started it, and I certainly won't start now.
Who can decide what they dream...and dream I do...

I think...that's it. It's a long weekend which is perfecto because I have tons of stuff I've been meaning to do. Such as write to Andrew and catch up with people in general plus organize my room and find stuff for a garage sale to make money for Galapagos CAUSE I'M GOING AND THAT ROCKS!!!
And the phone just rang twice and then stopped. Weird.
But yeah. That is all.
Now you don't need money when you look like that, do you honey...

To anonymous poster #2 (I feel kinda weird about actually replying since I don't know who you are) you really really remind me of that part in Bowling for Columbine when Michael Moore is talking to the South Park maker. His thing went something like "If I don't get into Honors math now, I won't get into it in 7th grade, and of course not in 8th grade, and then I'll never get into Honors math and I'll fail miserably and die poor and lonely."
That's what people make you believe. Grades are definitely important for getting into college, but if you don't get in immediately there's always junior colleges for people that aren't prepared. And since I'm sure you're my friend, I'll try to make sure you don't die lonely ^_^
